Preparing for Summer Classes

Cutter's Log - Stardate 9002.03.50
Current Song - Life During Wartime (Talking Heads)

Today I begin my 10th semester of community college.
I'm right HERE, everyone else is over ---------------------HERE

Both my Psychology class and Humanities class are Online. They are the only two classes I'm taking this semester. So I get to sit at home.

I already have most of my Psychology stuff available to me. I'm still waiting on my Humanities stuff to get ready. The Psychology class I'm taking is the same one that I failed a couple of years ago. I failed it because I was working third shift at BP, and kept falling asleep in the class. I discovered the power of cappuchino too late. If I stick to my schedule in this class, I should get no lower than a C. It's the same instructor too.

My Humanities class is taught by the same instructor that taught my second go-around in Music Appreciation. She is slow and untimely, hence I don't have my stuff yet. I think there is no textbook for the class, but there are in her campus classes. I hope my 2nd edition PSY book is okay for this semester, which wants the 3rd. Oh, the money I will save!

I created a calendar on my computer for all class-related things, similar to a planner. After 10 years of teachers pounding at me for not using a planner, I am using one now. Ten years is a long time.

Hope this all goes well!

Can't Wait for the Move

Cutter's Log - Stardate 9002.72.50
Current Song - My Sharona (The Knack)

I write the NISB State of the Site Address today. There will be a lot of interesting things in it. The official preview of the new URL, plus many more. It will be on the new site in time for the move.

If you visit NISB, you won't want to miss this.

Summer is here

Cutter's Log - Stardate 9002.32.50
Current Song - I'll Be Around (The Spinners)

Summer is here. Not much changes. That's what happens when you get older I guess.

My brother Chris graduates high school Sunday. I got him a card and some cash. One more brother left in high school, and a cousin in four more years. A Cutter has graduated Sterling HS every two years since 2005.

I'm keeping busy on NISB lately with the Honor Roll. Just a couple of more meets before I don't have to do it anymore. I really enjoyed compiling it, and look forward to doing it next year. Who knows, maybe some coaches will notice it. I like compiling these things. It makes me yearn for the days I wanted to do this for the newspaper. Speaking of the newspaper, I still find myself praying.

Too many people come to the gas station thinking "Why are you still here?" Believe me, I don't want to be there. I know where I want to be. It's just too damn hard to make that a reality.

Bunch of bills to pay this month. I worked an extra day this week, so this helps.

Schedule Known (Part II)

Cutter's Log - Stardate 9002.01.50

Not only has my work schedule been known, my NISB schedule has also been known. NISB is kinda determined from my work schedule as a second priority.

I'm breaking out the camera and taking pictures of a few baseball and softball games, leading up to the super-sectional games. June 8 is the last date for pictures. I can't go to any state tournaments because I'm working Saturdays for now on.

I've also got a couple columns: one involves friendships going back quite some time, and another has something to do with the NISB Honor Roll. Speaking of the Honor Roll, I try to update it every couple of days.

I also have an Observations piece on the Elmhurst York Badminton Sectional. Get to know what it's like at a meet, and know what is special about the sport.

Friday 5's will keep coming.

New site launches June 15.

And that's about it. I've got a Friday in June set for going to one of the Boats. Hope I can win something.

---

Work is getting better. Sometimes I have left without any confidence in doing better the next time. I'm bagging more bags of ice (did 30 last Friday, and 43 last night), when the average is 5 bags a day. That settles that problem. I'm fine in cash control. I'm fine with the basic of chores. The heavy-duty chores I have always struggled with. I'm always having trouble finding time to do them.

I sold a $500 winning ticket last night. It was on a $5 Bingo.

I'm doing five night$ next week, followed by a 4-5 pattern. It's much better than doing just 3.

Our fountain pop machine is out of order. We're out of the CO2 that makes the bubbles. That sucks for me because I need about 100 oz of Pepsi to get through the night. I've settled on buying a couple of 20 oz'ers from the storage boxes (warm). I think it's helped me perform well.

I hope I have a better day tonight.

Schedule Known

Cutter's Log - Stardate 9002.70.50
Current Song - What You Won't Do For Love (Bobby Caldwell)

I know my work schedule for the next couple of months. It helps tremendously because I can find time to plan things in advance. I'm working four-to-five days a week most of the time.

"It's a website"

Cutter's Log - Stardate 9002.50.50
Current Song - Jack and Jill (Raydio)

Apparently in order to have full credibility, I need to work for a newspaper. Problem is, I can't because the industry is crapping up.

I get people wondering what newspaper I am from. I tell them I run a website, and they're all confused.

I just lost thought.

I wouldn't mind blog writing for a newspaper website, as long as I get paid for it.

Let's Break Out The Camera

Cutter's Log - Stardate 9002.40.50
Current Song - Inca Dance (Cusco)

In the little I actually cover in the spring, I have done a lot of track and field with that Honor Roll. I think I've done more minor sports in the Friday 5 feature than baseball and softball.

That will change soon. I had a lot of positive feedback from my photo album of Tucson. I thought I may break out the camera and take some pics of baseball and softball games. I really only use the camera for Glory Days adventures.

That's a hint about a new site feature.

I've got five dates so far:

Today, Rock Falls softball vs. Hall
Thursday, Morrison baseball vs. Fulton
Saturday, Rock Falls softball quad
Next Tuesday, Orangeville softball vs. South Beloit
Next Thursday, Riverdale softball vs. ROWVA

If these work out, I'm going to try to schedule more dates.

To Those Who Seek to Ruin Me ...

Cutter's Log - Stardate 9002.10.50
Current Song - Psycho Sid theme

... I know who you are.

You won't get away.

You only make me work harder.

If I were you, I wouldn't push it.
